What is the renewal process for a CMA Certification?

CMA Renewal Overview
  1. Complete your annual CPE requirement
  2. Pay the annual CMA fee
  3. Comply with the IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice
Note: The CPE reporting period begins on January 1 following successful completion of the examination. The period between successful completion and the following January 1 is a grace period. CPE is not required during this period, but any CPE earned during this period can be counted as being earned in the first reporting period.

What are the WebCE CMA Certification CPE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are online self-study courses with non-monitored open-book final exams.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE CMA Certification CPE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard. Due to regulatory guidelines, access to courses CANNOT BE EXTENDED past 12 months from the original date of purchase.

How often does WebCE report CMA Certification CPE course completions?

WebCE does not report course completions for CMA CPE. Students must self-report their CPE credits in their CMA account on the Institute of Management Accountants website

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for CMA Certification CPE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. Certification holders should keep a copy of each certificate of completion on file for 3 years.

Are there any CPE exemptions?

  • Retired Status: A CMA who is over 55 years of age and retired from the profession of management accounting/financial management.
  • Hardships/Waivers: Waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis. The request should be sent to IMA along with appropriate documentation.

    • Serious Illness or Disability
    • Severe Financial Hardship
