Ethics: 2 CPE hours
The following subjects may be covered in acceptable continuing education courses: ethics, accounting, auditing, consulting services, specialized knowledge and applications, tax, management of a practice, or personal development.
6/30 biennially based on certificate number (Even Number = Even Years; Odd Number = Odd Years)
Courses cannot be taken for credit more than once in a 2-year reporting period.
Instruction: Maximum 40 hours Personal Development: Maximum 24 hours
Maximum of 20 hours may be carried over to the next reporting period. Ethics CPE credits carried over will not count toward the current ethics requirement.
Online permit renewals may be submitted until 11:59 PM on July 31. After that time, all renewals must be submitted in paper form and will be subject to the late fee and possible disciplinary action for practicing without a permit; notify the board if you do not wish to renew your permit. CPAs are no longer required to provide proof of CPE completion with the renewal application. CPAs chosen as an audit candidate will be notified and have 30 days to submit proof of all of their continuing education hours. CPAs can keep track of their CPE hours using the CPE Report Form.
WebCE courses are NASBA QAS self-study with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through course material then complete exam.Exams require a passing score of 70%.Note: If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.
12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard. Due to regulatory guidelines, access to courses CANNOT BE EXTENDED past 12 months from the original date of purchase.
The board may exempt from the continuing education requirements an individual who holds a permit from another state if:
