1/1 to 12/31 annually

Can CPA CPE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be taken for credit more than once a year.

Are there any CPA CPE credit type limits?

  • Published Materials: Maximum 10 hours
  • Nano-learning: Maximum 4 hours
  • Teaching at a University Level, Participation in Peer Reviews or State or National Accounting Association Meeetings : May apply with individual maximums, see board page for this type of information.

Can CPA CPE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Yes, 20 hours of carryover. There is no carryover from ethics.

What is the South Carolina CPA license renewal process?

Renewal notices will be emailed mid-November. Complete the renewal form and pay your fees online. Upload your completed CPE reporting form and self-study certificates using the document submission link provided on page one of the reporting form.

What are the WebCE South Carolina CPA CPE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are NASBA QAS self-study with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through course material then complete exam.
    Note: If taking multiple courses in one day, a maximum of 12 hours of CPE can be earned in one calendar day.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE South Carolina CPE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard. Due to regulatory guidelines, access to courses CANNOT BE EXTENDED past 12 months from the original date of purchase.

How often does WebCE report South Carolina CPA CPE course completions?

WebCE does not report CPE course completions to the South Carolina Board of Accountancy.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for South Carolina CPA CPE courses?

Online PDF Certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. CPAs should maintain written evidence of completion for a period of 5 years following the completion of each reporting activity.

What are the South Carolina CPA CPE requirements for non-residents?

The Board may accept a compliance report from another jurisdiction if the requirement is substantially equivalent to SC requirements.
