Are there any subject area requirements for New Jersey Real Estate CE?

For all licensees:
  • Fair Housing and NJ Law Against Discrimination: 1 CE hour
  • Agency: 1 CE hour
  • Ethics: 2 CE hours
  • Any Core Topic: 2 CE hours
  • Any of the CE types, Electives or Core: 6 CE hours
  • When does New Jersey Real Estate CE have to be completed?

    4/30 every odd year

    Can Real Estate CE courses be repeated?

    Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

    Can Real Estate CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

    Excess credit hours may not be carried forward to the next license term.

    What is the New Jersey Real Estate license renewal process?

    Renewal notices are sent to the employing broker's office. Every individual licensee will be required to complete and submit their own online questionnaire to the Real Estate Commission (REC). Questionnaires will be available to licensees by April of each renewal year.

    What are the WebCE New Jersey Real Estate CE course requirements?

    • WebCE courses are classified as distance education courses.
    • Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes with a score of at least 60 percent.
    • Final exams are not required for CE.
    • If the end-of-chapter quiz is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

    What is the access period for WebCE New Jersey Real Estate CE courses?

    12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.

    How often does WebCE report New Jersey Real Estate CE course completions?

    Every business day to PSI. Please be aware that it will take approximately 10 business days for the confirmation of your completed continuing education to be transferred from the school to the testing vendor to the Real Estate Commission.

    Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for New Jersey Real Estate CE courses?

    Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the course is completed.

    Are there any CE exemptions?

    Those licensed as a Broker or Broker-Salesperson for 40 years or more may submit an application for CE exemption.

    The following may request a waiver of CE if one of the following are true:
    • Individuals who suffer an incapacitating illness
    • Individuals who are on active duty service in the armed forces of the United States for one year or more of the two-year licensure period
    • Individuals who had other substantial and unavoidable hardship. Financial hardship, unreasonable delay, and conflicts with business or personal obligations shall not constitute a basis on which the continuing education requirement may be waived.
    An applicant for a waiver of the continuing education requirements shall request the waiver in writing on a form prescribed by the Commission and provide documentation that corroborates the applicant's certification as to the basis upon which the waiver is sought.
