Idaho's Acceptance: WebCE® courses meet the NASBA/AICPA CPE Standards and therefore are accepted by the Idaho Board of Accountancy.

What are the CPA CPE requirements for Idaho?

  • Total CPE Requirement: 80 hours in a rolling 2 year period
  • Annual CPE Requirement: Minimum 30 hours, maximum 50 hours

Are there any subject area requirements for Idaho CPA CPE?

CPA Ethics: 4 hours of ethics CPE
New, reinstated or re-entry licensees must complete a 2-hour state-specific CPE course on Idaho's law and rules during the first calendar year that the license is issued.

Note: WebCE's Ethics courses do not currently include the 2 hours of Idaho State Specific ethics.

Can CPA CPE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be taken for credit more than once in a 2-year reporting period.

When does CPA CPE have to be completed?

12/31 biennially rolling

Are there any CPA CPE credit type limits?

Published Materials: Published works may be accepted for credit only if a copy of the published article is submitted with the CPE report for review.

Can CPA CPE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess hours earned in a CPE cycle may not be carried forward to a subsequent CPE cycle.

What is the Idaho CPA license renewal process?

License renewals are due on or before 6/30. Licensees can renew their license online at any time during their renewal period. CPE can be reported online anytime during the reporting period.

What are the WebCE Idaho CPE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are NASBA QAS self-study with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through course material then complete exam.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE Idaho CPE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard. Due to regulatory guidelines, access to courses CANNOT BE EXTENDED past 12 months from the original date of purchase.

How often does WebCE report Idaho CPE course completions?

WebCE does not report CPE course completions to the Idaho Board of Accountancy.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Idaho CPE courses?

WebCE provides online printable certificates of completion. Certificates of completion will be available to print online immediately after the final exam is passed. You should maintain written evidence of completion for a period of 5 years following the completion of each reporting activity.

Are there any CPE exemptions?

The Board may make exceptions to the CPE requirements, or grant extensions of time for completion of the CPE requirements for the following reasons:
  • Health as certified by a medical doctor
  • Other good cause
  • Licensees who elect inactive, lapsed, or retired status
In order to receive and exemption from CPE, a qualifying individual must submit a written request for an exemption to the Board.
