Louisiana's Acceptance: WebCE® courses meet the requirements set forth in Chapter 13 of the Louisiana Professional and Occupational Standards with regards to CPE.

What are the CPA CPE requirements for Louisiana?

  • Total CPE Requirements: 80 hours over each rolling 2 year period
  • Annual CPE Requirements: 20 hours, 40 hours per year recommended.

Are there any subject area requirements for Louisiana CPA CPE?

  • CPA Ethics: 3 CPE hours of Board Approved Ethics required in 2024.
  • Accounting & Auditing: Minimum of 8 hours annually for CPAs who participate in any attest engagements that year
  • Personal Development: Maximum 20 hours per calendar year

Other topics that qualify include Tax, Consulting, Management, and Specialized Knowledge as long as they contribute to your professional knowledge and competence.

When does Louisiana CPA CPE have to be completed?

12/31 annually

Can CPA CPE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be taken for credit more than once in a 2-year reporting period.

Are there any CPA CPE credit type limits?

  • Instruction: Maximum 20 hours per calendar year
  • Published Materials: Maximum 10 hours per calendar year
  • Completion of Board-Approved Exam: Maximum 20 hours per calendar year

Can CPA CPE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess hours earned in a CPE cycle may not be carried forward to a subsequent CPE cycle.

What is the Louisiana CPA license renewal process?

Renewal notices sent in October and renewals may be completed online, starting November 1. CPAs with active certificates must complete their CPE and uploaded into the new portal.

What are the WebCE Louisiana CPE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are NASBA QAS self-study with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through course material then complete exam.
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.
  • Passing score: 70%*
*Ethics course will have a 90% passing rate.

What is the access period for WebCE Louisiana CPA CPE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard. Due to regulatory guidelines, access to courses CANNOT BE EXTENDED past 12 months from the original date of purchase.

How often does WebCE report Louisiana CPA CPE course completions?

WebCE does not report CPE course completions to the Louisiana Board of Accountancy.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Louisiana CPE courses?

Online PDF Certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. CPAs should maintain written evidence of completion for a period of 5 years following the completion of each reporting activity.
