What are the CPA CPE requirements for Nebraska?

80 hours over 2 years, 40 hr. self-study limit

Are there any subject area requirements for Nebraska CPA CPE?

  • CPA Ethics: 4 hours of ethics CPE
  • Accounting and Auditing: Minimum 32 CPE hours are recommended for those individuals who perform audits, reviews, or compilations

When does Nebraska CPA CPE have to be completed?

1/1 to 12/31 biennially, odd or even year based on birth year

Can CPA CPE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be taken for credit more than once in a 2-year reporting period.

Are there any CPA CPE credit type limits?

  • Self-Study: Maximum 40 hours
    • Nano-learning: Nano-learning is considered Self-Study and will fall under the self-study maximum of 40 hours. Also, nano-learning must be reported in 50 minute increments, from the same sponsor.
  • Instruction: Maximum 40 hours
  • Published Materials: Maximum 16 hours
  • Personal Development and Communication subjects:Maximum 16 hours
  • Other Organizations' Programs: Maximum of 40 hours for peer review programs sponsored by a state board or national or state professional society

Can CPA CPE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess hours earned in a CPE cycle may not be carried forward to a subsequent CPE cycle.

What is the Nebraska CPA license renewal process?

CPE must be earned by December 31st of the year prior to renewal and must be reported by January 31st of your renewal year. The Board will notify license holders on December 1 of each year their “Report of Continuing Education Attendance” is due to the Board. CPAs may submit CPE online to the Board throughout the year by going to www.nbpa.ne.gov.

What are the WebCE Nebraska CPA CPE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are NASBA QAS self-study with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through course material then complete exam.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE Nebraska CPA CPE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard. Due to regulatory guidelines, access to courses CANNOT BE EXTENDED past 12 months from the original date of purchase.

How often does WebCE report Nebraska CPA CPE course completions?

WebCE does not report CPE course completions to the Nebraska State Board of Public Accountancy.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Nebraska CPA CPE courses?

Online PDF Certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. CPAs should maintain written evidence of completion for a period of 6 years following the completion of each reporting activity.

What are the Nebraska CPA CPE requirements for non-residents?

A non-resident licensee seeking renewal of a license in this state will be required to comply with the CPE requirement of this state.

Are there any CPE exemptions?

Inactive Registrants and “Inactive-Retired” certificate holders are not required to report continuing education.
