What are the Real Estate Continuing Education requirements for Pennsylvania?

All License Types

14 CE hours total

Note: Standard salesperson licensees who are renewing for the first time must complete a specific set of continuing education modules. WebCE does not currently offer the first-time renewal courses for Pennsylvania salespersons.

Are there any subject area requirements for Pennsylvania Real Estate CE?

All License Types

  • Fair Housing: 2 CE hours
  • Agency Relationships: 3 CE hours
  • Electives: 9 CE hours
    Note: Licensees who wish to perform Broker Price Opinions (BPO), must complete a continuing education course on the topic.

Can Real Estate CE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

Can Real Estate CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess credit hours may not be carried forward to the next license term.

What is the Pennsylvania Real Estate license renewal process?

Licenses expire May 31 of every even-numbered year. The Commission e-mails renewal notices approximately 60 days prior to the license expiration date. Notices are sent via e-mail to the e-mail address registered on the PALS website. A completed application includes the reactivation fee and continuing education certificates.

What are the WebCE Pennsylvania Real Estate CE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are classified as online distance education courses.
  • Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes with a score of at least 60 percent.
  • Final exams are not required for CE.
  • If the end-of-chapter quiz is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE Pennsylvania Real Estate CE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.

How often does WebCE report Pennsylvania Real Estate CE course completions?

WebCE does not report course completions to the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Pennsylvania Real Estate CE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the course is completed.

Are there any CE exemptions?

The Commission may waive all or part of the continuing education requirement of §35.382 (relating to requirement) upon proof that the standard license holder seeking the waiver is unable to fulfill the requirement because of illness, emergency or hardship. Requests to waive the continuing education requirement must be filed with the Commission on or before March 31 of the renewal year unless the applicant proves to the satisfaction of the Commission that it was impracticable to do so.

Reciprocal licensees, unlike standard licensees, are not required to complete Pennsylvania’s 14-hour continuing education requirement. Upon request, a Certificate of Licensure dates within 90 days of submission must be provided to verify current licensure in the reciprocal state.
