24 CE hours total

• Core/Mandatory: 9 CE hours (3 CE hours must be in Fair Housing)
• Electives: 15 CE hours

• Licenses issued before 1/1/2020: 5/1 every even year
• Licenses issued after 1/1/2020: Every 2 years on the anniversary of the date the license was issued.

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

Excess credit hours cannot be carried forward to the next license term.

Licensees are responsible for the timely renewal of their license. The Department may provide notice of the license renewal requirement as a courtesy, but the absence of such notice shall not be construed as relieving licensees from their responsibility for timely license renewal. Every real estate broker or salesperson who desires to renew a License shall apply for renewal by submitting a complete renewal application and paying the appropriate fee.

• WebCE courses are classified as online distance education courses.
• Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes with a score of at least 65 percent. Students will not be able to complete the course until the student’s time in the course equals the number of approved credit hours for the course.
• Final exams are not required for CE.
• If the end-of-chapter quiz is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.

WebCE does not report course completion information to the Department of Business Regulation (DBR).

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the course is completed.

Non-residents must apply for reciprocity in order for them to use their home state CE requirements.

The following are exempt from Rhode Island CE:

• Licensees who hold a valid license originally issued prior to December 12, 1984
• Effective January 1, 2022, attorneys licensed by and in good standing with the Rhode Island Supreme Court and granted a license pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws
